Advanced Child Health Specialist
This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires the provision of individualised quality child health services to women, children and families antenatally, from birth to 12 years of age within an Ipswich hospital and community setting.
The Advanced Child Health Specialist is accountable for practice at an advanced level, working collaboratively with healthcare teams including consumers/carers, other health professionals, general practitioners and other agencies.
About The Role
Key responsibilities include:
* Providing expert nursing care in complex situations while supporting and directing team members.
* Modeling excellent standards of comprehensive, evidence-based nursing care and documentation to facilitate quality patient outcomes.
* Communicating effectively with healthcare teams, patients, relatives and visitors, and maintaining a positive workplace culture through well-developed consultation, liaison, negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
* Participating in multidisciplinary teams to identify areas for improvement in work practices and outcomes, and contributing to the continued improvement of policies and procedures.
* Prioritising clinical and related administrative duties, including effective and efficient planning and organisation of complex caseloads.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will require:
* A post-graduate qualification in Child Health or relevant field.
* At least 2 years' experience as a Registered Nurse/Midwife.
* Current registration with the relevant professional body.
* Vaccination against certain vaccine preventable diseases.
