OSHC 2IC/Assistant Centre Manager Role - Bertram Primary School

We're currently seeking an experienced and motivated Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) Assistant Centre Manager/2IC to lead our vibrant service at Bertram Primary School.
About the Role
This role is ideal for an experienced educator ready to step into a leadership support role, working closely with the Centre Manager to ensure high‐quality care, smooth operations and meaningful relationships with children, families and the school community.
Key Responsibilities
* Leadership & Staff Support
o Support the Centre Manager in leading and mentoring a team of educators.
o Take on leadership responsibilities in the absence of the Centre Manager.
o Assist with team meetings, shift planning and daily staff coordination.
o Promote a positive and collaborative team culture.
* Compliance & Safety
o Assist in ensuring compliance with the National Quality Framework (NQF), National Law & Regulations, and Big Childcare policies.
o Maintain accurate records such as attendance, incident reports and medication logs.
o Help uphold high standards of health, hygiene and safety at all times.
* Program Delivery & Child Engagement
o Support the planning and delivery of a play‐based, child‐led program aligned with the "My Time, Our Place" framework.
o Actively engage with children to create a welcoming and inclusive environment.
o Help ensure activities are developmentally appropriate and meet the interests of the children.
* Family & Community Engagement
o Build positive, respectful relationships with families.
o Act as a key point of contact in the absence of the Centre Manager.
o Collaborate with the school community to support seamless service integration.
About You
You're a confident and capable Educator with a genuine passion for working with children and a commitment to their wellbeing and safety. You thrive in dynamic environments and bring energy, professionalism and care to everything you do.
* A Diploma or higher in Early Childhood Education, School Age Education and Care, or equivalent (as approved by ACECQA).
* Minimum 1–2 years' experience in an OSHC or early childhood setting.
* Sound knowledge of the NQF, NQS and relevant National Law & Regulations.
* Current First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis certificates.
* A valid Working with Children Check (WWC) or equivalent.
* Previous experience in a leadership or 2IC role (desirable).
* Familiarity with OSHC management software (desirable).
* Experience in a school‐based environment (desirable).
* Understanding of inclusive and culturally responsive practices (desirable).
