About the Position We offer an attractive opportunity for an experienced and inspiring planner to:
Lead a dedicated team of 12 planning officers with diverse experience Work in an interesting area with a broad variety of land uses, including the McLaren Vale region and mid-coast at the southern fringe of Adelaide Support the council in achieving sustainable development and growth Reporting to the Manager of Development Services and working closely with the Principal Planner (Assessment Manager), this role provides leadership and supervision for the Planning Team's daily activities, including staff availability, workload management, and performance standards.
It also involves providing professional advice to internal and external stakeholders on development processes and expert opinions in decision appeals.
About You In a collaborative, dynamic, and engaging environment, your energy, positivity, and communication skills will enable you to lead and inspire your team.
You should possess a tertiary qualification in town planning, urban design, or a relevant discipline, along with advanced project management skills supporting strategy, project, and program development.
Strong interpersonal and customer service skills are essential to provide expert guidance and foster a professional, service-oriented approach.
