Project Cost Manager Job Description
Our organization is seeking an experienced Project Cost Manager to play a vital role in supporting the full project lifecycle. This includes monitoring and controlling project costs, maintaining cost trackers, and ensuring accurate forecasting, invoicing, and month-end reporting.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of contract commercial mechanisms and be able to analyze financial data on a day-to-day basis. They will also be responsible for collecting baseline schedules from project managers and contractors, tracking revenue and cost progress, and maintaining project cost sheets.
Key Responsibilities:
* Monitor and control project costs to ensure accurate forecasting and invoicing
* Analyze financial data to identify trends and areas for improvement
* Collect and maintain baseline schedules from project managers and contractors
* Track revenue and cost progress to ensure projects are on track
* Maintain project cost sheets and present monthly project status updates
Requirements and Qualifications:
* Over 7 years of experience in project controls, account management, and project management roles
* Extensive experience in commercial finance environments
* Proven ability to manage and influence a wide range of stakeholders with strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex information clearly
* Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with the ability to demonstrate complex data analysis and reporting skills
* Strong analytical mindset with a keen eye for accuracy and detail; able to produce high-quality outputs under pressure
