The opportunity
We are in the market for an outstanding individual to develop and deliver the planned and reactive plumbing and gas works to ensure the City's buildings, facilities and structures are well maintained, fit for purpose and highly functional.
You will be someone who is able to get this done through the effective and efficient management of in-house and contracted plumbing and gas tradespersons, and other building services.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
Diploma or equivalent in Engineering, Building or associated discipline
Hold a valid and current Plumbing Contractor's Licence issued by the Plumbing Licencing Board of Western Australia (must include Water, Drainage and Sanitary)
Construction Safety Induction Card
Working at Heights Ticket or willing to obtain
Knowledge, experience and understanding of building compliance (including electrical and mechanical) legislation, and the ability to interpret standards and codes
Strong awareness and knowledge of safety issues relating to the operation of equipment in the installation/maintenance of works in a busy, people filled environment
High level of knowledge, experience and performance in budgeting and expenditure management
High level of knowledge and performance in project and contract management
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective working relationships
Ability to manage and prioritise individual work responsibilities to achieve target outcomes
