A prestigious and well-established organisation in the education sector is seeking an experienced Finance Business Manager for a short-term 3-month contract.
This is an immediate start role providing high-level financial and operational support to the executive team.
Pay range
Base pay range: A$250,******/yr - A$250,******/yr
Role responsibilities
Maintain strong accounting systems, controls and transparent financial processes
Lead the preparation and coordination of annual operational and capital budgets
Monitor financial performance, analyse variances and provide clear insights to senior management
Produce timely monthly management reports across key projects and cost centres
Develop and refine KPI frameworks to support financial performance tracking
Manage payroll operations; act as back-up for Payroll Officer and Accounting Manager when needed
Improve and standardise financial and operational processes to support day-to-day efficiency
Review policies and procedures to ensure compliance and best practice
Conduct internal audits to strengthen risk management and governance
Identify opportunities to enhance cost effectiveness across the school
Support ICT and the Finance SMS module implementation where required
Assist with business modelling and financial reporting for new initiatives
Allocate tasks, manage workflow and ensure timely delivery of team outputs
Provide feedback and support to develop team capability and quality of work
Uphold child-safety standards and comply with all school policies and procedures
Maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgement in all financial and operational decisions
Contribute to a safe, positive and professional school environment
Ideal Candidate
Experience in Education is highly desirable
Senior operations leader with experience in finance
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Proven ability to improve processes and organisational performance
Skilled in budgeting, forecasting and operational reporting
Experienced in managing teams and stakeholders
Highly professional, proactive and strategic thinker
