LJ's Technical Services is a leading provider of NDT and Inspection services across Queensland's mining and heavy industry sectors. As we expand our Mackay operations, we're seeking an experienced Welder to join our team as senior welder.
About the Role:
This role is ideal for a trade-qualified welder who is passionate about mentoring and quality assurance. You will be responsible for welding supervision, training apprentices and junior welders, and ensuring work complies with industry standards and codes.
Key Responsibilities:
· Provide practical welding training, mentorship, and skills development.
· Supervise welding operations to ensure quality and compliance.
· Oversee fabrication and repair jobs in workshop and site environments.
· Ensure welding procedures meet AS/NZS and ISO standards.
· Maintain accurate training records and performance assessments.
· Conduct inspections and supervise pressure equipment welds (desirable).
Requirements:
· Trade Qualification in Welding or Fabrication (Cert III or higher).
· Minimum 5 years' hands-on welding experience.
· Prior experience in training, mentoring, or supervising (formal or informal).
· Strong knowledge of welding procedures, codes, and QA/QC practices.
· High level of communication and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to work independently and lead a team.
· Experience in mining, heavy industry, or pressure vessels.
· Willingness to travel to site-based work as required.
