What you will doas the General Manager - Information Services(CIO):
* Oversee and lead theAER’s Information Services Branch, including the directsupervision of an Executive Director and Directors, and theassociated staffing and contractor/consultancybudget.
* Set the vision andpriorities for the branch. This includes:
o developingthe strategic direction and creating a shared sense ofpurpose through encouraging others’ input andcommunicating required actions and expectedoutcomes.
o settingexpectations, nurturing talent and building capabilityto develop and maintain an effective, innovative,resilient, responsive and customer-orientedbranch.
* Build and maintainconstructive working relationships and managing expectations ofSenior Responsible Officers (SROs), staff, AER Board members,senior managers, external advisors, and other stakeholders toachieve the AER’s purpose, vision and objectives. A keypart of this role will be to provide transparent informationregarding scope, delivery and budget and to workcollaboratively with SROs in relation to this.
* Develop, review andpresent a range of clear and concise written material for awide audience including correspondence, briefings, guidelines,advices, and submissions on ICT and digital information, andBoard and governance committee papers.
* Establish andoversee a scalable program management function to deliverprioritised, high-impact digital and data projects
* High-level strategicapproach, with proven experience in delivering complex ITprojects and managing a portfolio of internal technologysystems so that services are delivered in the most effective,efficient, timely and contemporary way.
* Demonstratedexperience in data strategy leadership roles that have providedbroad experience in data management, governance, programming,reporting and analytical services to anorganisation.
* Highly developedcommunication and relationship building skills with an abilityto present and influence to a high level, including to seniormanagers and CEO/ board members.
* Experience inmanaging multiple, diverse, geographically dispersed teams, andability to coordinate multiple priorities to achieve results(often within short timeframes).
* Tertiaryqualifications in a relevant discipline or a minimum of 5years’ experience in senior ICT, digital government orservice delivery roles are preferred.
* Maintain a baselinesecurity clearance or be able to obtain and maintain a securityclearance.
