Are you a detail‑driven systems or data professional with a passion for manufacturing, software, and technical problem‑solving? G.James Glass and Aluminium is seeking a V6 Database Developer to support our Windows & Doors division by maintaining and developing front‑end data within the V6 estimating and production database. This role plays a critical part in ensuring accurate pricing, efficient production, and reliable product configuration across the business. The Role We are seeking a technically capable and analytical V6 Database Developer who will take ownership of configuring and maintaining V6 resources used in window and door estimating and production. Key responsibilities include: Creating, reviewing, and maintaining V6 resources such as frames, BOMs, extrusions, glass, hardware, and labour Reviewing CAD drawings and importing CAD resources into V6 Building and configuring assemblies, attributes, attachment bags, and labour calculations Creating and updating formulas, lookup matrices, and labour distributions Testing quotes and user functionality to ensure accuracy Investigating issues and assisting with bug fixes, system updates, patches, and new features Supporting database migrations and data analysis Running and validating standard V6 reports including BOM and fabrication outputs Working collaboratively with internal stakeholders to support estimating and production accuracy The Person You are a methodical, detail‑focused professional who enjoys working with data, systems, and technical configurations. You bring: Experience with V6 window/door estimating software (highly regarded) Strong analytical skills and confidence working with complex datasets Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas Knowledge of glass and aluminium window and door manufacturing processes (preferred) Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications Strong problem‑solving skills and a systematic approach to work Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with internal teams A strong work ethic and commitment to accuracy and continuous improvement Experience with Oracle, manufacturing systems, inventory, C#, or macros (WinWrap Basic‑COM) is considered advantageous but not essential.
