Job Description
CMY seeks a Multicultural Youth Worker who will be responsible for delivering proactive and responsible learning and development activities to young people aged 16-25 years who are either currently involved in the criminal justice system or present as having a high risk of engaging in criminal activity. The role will support the development of appropriate structures with diverse communities to advance outcomes for young people and their families. The role will additionally offer support to participants from asylum seeker backgrounds; out of home care and mature participants 20-64 years disengaged from education and employment disengaged for more than 6 months.

* Hours: 22.8 hours per week (0.6 FTE), Part Time
* Fixed Term: until 31st March 2027
* Base Salary (SCHADS Level 4): $88,090.08 per annum (pro rata) plus Super and access to Salary Packaging (Salary Packaging is a great way to increase the value of your salary by allowing you to receive a portion of your income in the form of tax free or tax-deductible benefits).
* Location: Wyndham & Melton
* Interviews: to be held in the week beginning 16th Feb 2026 for March commencement.
You will have:
* Ability to identify appropriate interventions and supports for young people and mature participants aged 20–64, and to make referrals to internal and external stakeholders to address identified risks and needs.
* Well-developed written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills with demonstrated ability to present and write reports and project plans.
* Skills in undertaking and completing in depth psycho-social assessments to determine the young person's circumstances as well as the level of support and number of interventions required; and
* An ability to work both independently and within a team environment and collaborate effectively with peers across multiple regions.
