The Opportunity
Following a function wide review and refresh, applications are now invited from suitably qualified candidates seeking appointment to the role of Human Resources Manager. Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, the Human Resources Manager will lead a small team of HR practitioners in providing contemporary and responsive human resource managerial advice, guidance and administrative services.
A key aspect of this role is driving an enabling model of HR service delivery. In doing so, the appointee partners with internal customers to provide high quality expertise across a broad range of operational and strategic HR matters, including acting as a trusted advisor on complex industrial issues.
What You'll Do
* Lead a team of HR practitioners in the provision of day‐to‐day transactional and advisory services.
* Provide a case management service to key stakeholders on industrial and disciplinary matters.
* Partner with key stakeholders on the implementation of major workforce change processes.
* Support business leaders with the full suite of recruitment services to facilitate a culture of 'right people in the right roles'.
* Ensure that hiring managers have access to best practice HR tools to conduct recruitment efforts, including role descriptions, advertising text, behavioural‐based interview questions, and referee report outlines.
* Ensure that the HR policy suite remains accurate, up to date and consistent with emerging best practice.
* Conduct data‐driven assessment and review activities to ensure compliance with industrial minimums, including rates of pay, above award rates, maximum term contracts and probation.
* Provide reports on HR metrics to support and enable data‐driven decision making.
* Provide periodic reporting to key stakeholders on HR matters, including submission to the CEO and Board.
* Role model a commitment to health and safety across the HR team and Housing Choices Australia more broadly, with a particular focus on early intervention and risk mitigation.
What You'll Bring
* Tertiary qualifications in Human Resource Management, Industrial Relations, Law or another relevant discipline.
* Proven experience as an HR Manager, ideally in a similar organisation, together with demonstrable evidence of leading a team of HR practitioners.
* Advanced knowledge of contemporary HR managerial disciplines, including employee relations, performance and disciplinary management, talent acquisition and management, and OH&S.
* Depth of expertise with the SCHADS Modern Award and other relevant industrial instruments.
* Expert customer service and internal consulting skills.
