At Boandik, we're on a mission to redefine aged care through exceptional care and culinary excellence. We're currently seeking passionate and reliable Sous Chefs (3) to join our team on a permanent full-time basis across each of our residential homes. If you have a love for cooking and a heart for community, we'd love to hear from you.
About Us:
Boandik has been a cornerstone of exceptional care for older Australians and people with disabilities across regional South Australia since its inception in 1956. At Boandik, we are more than an aged care provider; we are a community committed to care.
About the Role:
You'll be a key part of our Hotel Services team, ensuring residents enjoy nutritious, high-quality meals in a welcoming environment. Key Responsibilities:
· Quality food provision and resident experience.
· Kitchen management and staff supervision.
· Food safety and compliance (food safety supervisor duties).
· Communication and collaboration with key staff and residents.
About You:
We're looking for Sous Chefs who know their way around a kitchen, can handle a little heat (both from the ovens and the occasional tough critic at table five), and love the idea of making mealtime the best part of someone's day.
· Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent is required.
· Experience working as a Sous Chef, Junior Sous Chef or Chef de Partie in a high-volume culinary environment.
· Previous experience in Aged Care (desirable).
· Current Food Safety Supervisor certificate (or willingness to obtain).
· Ability to provide high-standard, nutritious, and visually appealing meals.
· Proven ability to prioritise workloads, be reliable, flexible, and detail-oriented, to achieve outcomes within a specified time frame and have a positive attitude.
· Knowledge and ability to apply the IDDSI Framework in food prep.
