In Australia, we design solutions – tailoring our suite of products around our clients' needs and supply, install, repair and maintain parking systems manufactured by DESIGNA. We also provide 24/7 remote management services to our customers via our control centre situated in the Philippines.
About the role
As a Field Service Technician at Designa Australia, you will be responsible for new implementations, providing technical support and maintenance services to our clients across the region you are based in. Currently we have positions available in our head office at Glynde, SA.
What you\'ll be doing
* Reporting to the Field Service Manager and Project Manager we will take you through an on the job training course to give you all the required skills prior to sending you out to perform maintenance or new implementation work on various Designa sites. As an enthusiastic person with a passion for all things technical, the key areas are:
* Timely visits to customer sites to undertake the installation, service and support of Designa products.
* Fault finding, diagnosis and repairs on a range of Designa carparking products.
* Commissioning, configuring and testing of Designa devices.
* Troubleshooting technical issues (backed by a senior technical support team)
* Conduct preventative maintenance checks to identify and address potential issues before they impact carpark operations.
* Provide customers with on-going technical support in line with the agreed terms and ensure all customer enquiries are addressed.
* Train relevant customer staff in the correct use of Designa Australia products.
* Update job status in the electronic job cards – Simpro system.
Preferred Qualifications and Experience
* Recognised technical qualification in mechanical or electrical engineering.
* Experience as a field technician.
* Experience in installation and equipment servicing.
* Experience working in outdoor environments.
* Some understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, VLANs, and routing protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF)
* Some understanding with cloud networking (AWS VPCs, Azure VNets, hybrid cloud setups)
Skills Required

* Relevant technical qualification or trade certificate in electrical/electronics
* Proven experience as a Field Service Technician or in a similar role
* Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
* Excellent communication and customer service skills
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Proficient in the use of diagnostic tools and equipment such as multi-meter
* Basic computer skill with good understanding of IoT (network, VLan, Routers DHCP etc)
* A valid driver\'s licence
