Play a Key Role in Emergency Care on the Sunshine Coast

Care 24/7, in partnership with Buderim Private Hospital, is seeking a Medical Administration Officer to join their refreshed and growing team in a part time capacity. As part of the Sunshine Coast’s first private emergency department, you’ll be working in a modern, fast-paced environment where professionalism and patient care come first.

In this role, you will provide essential administrative support, ensuring smooth operations and excellent service to patients, their families, and healthcare professionals. The role offers flexibility, requiring coverage across day, evening, and night shifts in a business operating 24/7.

In 2018, Buderim Private Hospital and Care 24-7 came together to launch the region’s first private emergency department. Staffed by experienced emergency specialists, this 24/7 facility is designed to deliver world class care in a compassionate and welcoming setting. As the team expands and evolves, now is the perfect time to be part of this important chapter in private healthcare on the Coast.

About The Role

As a Medical Administration Officer, you will be the first point of contact for patients, visitors and healthcare professionals, supporting the smooth operation of the emergency centre. The role offers flexibility, requiring coverage across day, evening and night shifts in a business operating 24/7.

Your Key Responsibilities Include


* Providing a warm and professional welcome to all patients and visitors
* Answering enquiries both in person and over the phone with clarity and care
* Assisting clinical staff with daily administrative support
* Accurately managing Medicare billing, invoicing and receipting
* Ensuring patient records are properly maintained, scanned and filed
* Keeping the reception and waiting areas tidy and organised
* Working across a 24/7 seven day a week roster to support continuous patient care
* Attending staff meetings and training sessions as required
* Representing Care 24/7 and Buderim Private Hospital with integrity and professionalism

About You:

You’ll Be a Calm And Capable Team Player Who Thrives In a Busy And People Focused Setting. Ideal Candidates Will Have

* Previous experience in medical administration or a similar customer service role
* A good understanding of medical terminology and admin processes (familiarity with MedTech or Cerner is an advantage but not essential)
* Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude
* Availability to work a variety of shifts including evenings, weekends and public holidays
* Excellent attention to detail, confidentiality and professionalism
* A current Police Check (or willingness to obtain)
