Legal Secretary – Disputes & Insolvency (Sydney)
Join McInnes Wilson to support our national Disputes and Insolvency team. We seek a motivated, detail‑oriented Legal Secretary to manage legal documents, calendars and client communications.
Role Overview
As a key administrative partner to senior lawyers, you will draft briefs, affidavits, cost agreements and manage client enquiries. You will schedule meetings, maintain file systems, support tax invoicing and assist in conflict searches.
Responsibilities
* Draft legal documents including briefs, affidavits and cost agreements.
* Prepare and issue client tax invoices.
* Schedule meetings, organise calendars and manage file systems.
* Answer and make phone calls, liaise with stakeholders including clients, barristers, and principals.
* Open new files and perform conflict searches.
* Assist general administrative tasks.
Role Requirements
* 1–2 years secretarial experience in a legal practice (ideal).
* High attention to detail, strong organisation and time‑management.
* Confidence in building lasting relationships with clients and colleagues.
* Self‑starter who thrives in a collaborative environment.
* Familiarity with NetDocuments and Practice Evolve seen as advantageous.
