Job Overview:
We are looking for an experienced, dedicated, and highly organised Bar Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of our bar.
You will lead a team of staff, ensuring a high-quality customer experience while maintaining a profitable, efficient, and smooth-running bar environment.
The ideal candidate will have excellent leadership skills, a passion for hospitality, and a thorough understanding of bar operations.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership: Supervise, train, and motivate bar staff to ensure exceptional customer service and a positive work environment.
Customer Service: Maintain high standards of service to ensure guests have an outstanding experience.
Address customer concerns or complaints promptly and professionally.
Bar Operations: Oversee the preparation of drinks, maintain cleanliness and organisation of the bar area, and ensure all health and safety regulations are adhered to.
Menu Development: Collaborate with the team to create and update the drink menu, including special cocktails, promotions, and seasonal offerings.
Compliance: Ensure that the bar complies with local, state, and federal regulations, including liquor licensing and health/safety laws.
Marketing & Events: Work with the office team to promote the bar through our weekly E-Bulletin and social media.
Qualifications
Proven experience in a bar role within the hospitality industry.
Previous member-based club experience preferable.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Ability to make coffee, cocktails & bar drinks.
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks.
Good organisational and problem-solving skills.
Knowledge of health, safety, and alcohol-related regulations.
Essential Requirements & Benefits

Familiarity with Swiftpos point-of-sale (POS) systems and bar management software.

Operational Tasks
Swiftpos skills for entering stock as it arrives & load new products.
Responsible for Bar staff to report to as direct line.
Stock ordering - Bar / soft drinks/chips/nuts - in line with budget set by GM.
Stocktakes monthly.
Weekly cleaning of Bar / rotation of stock / Clean Fridges.
Basic Barista coffee making skills.
Basic Food Handling Certificate (South Australia).
Proficient in beer line cleaning / able to be trained.
Keg tapping - change out kegs when required.
Back-up point for function enquiries - emailing and Microsoft Office proficient.
Liaise with caterers.
Promotion of events with caterer - work together to host events at the Squadron.
The role requires the supervisor to be hands on operationally.
