Manage / deliver innovative multi‐discipline projects from concept to handover.
The Opportunity
We currently have a vacancy for a Project Engineer to join our growing Townsville team. This newly created position will support the successful delivery of our multi-discipline, Greenfield and Brownfield projects, from study phase, through to execution and handover. Responsibilities
* Coordinate work programmes to safely deliver multiple projects concurrently
* Support the day‐to‐day management of scope, cost, schedule, quality and resources throughout the project lifecycle
* Assisting with planning and scheduling tasks, including preparing basic work plans and helping to monitor and update weekly and monthly schedules
* Engage, collaborate and continue to strengthen respectful relationships with clients and stakeholders
* Engage with internal stakeholders to ensure they are well informed of project objectives, scope and progress
* Interpretation of engineering drawings and documents, working with engineers and designers to help develop practical technical solutions
* Maintain project tracking, report status updates and effectively escalate any major issues promptly to the leadership team
* Identify risks and opportunities, enabling their visibility amongst stakeholders, ensuring relevant effective strategies and mitigation controls are in place
* Work within the provisions and guidelines of the Quality Assurance system, and contractual and legislation requirements relevant to the project
Here's what you'll need
* Tertiary qualifications in Mechanical Engineering or Project Management
* At least 5+ years solid post‐graduate experience in a similar role within the mineral resources, materials handling or industrial sectors; more experience candidates are also encouraged to apply.
* Lead by example, creating a culture of safety, quality, and environmental awareness
* Ability to take projects from problem definition, through business case justification, delivery, commissioning and handover including change management
* The ability to work autonomously, prioritise demands and handle multiple complex tasks simultaneously
* Experience in leading small projects and/or a discipline design group is desirable
* Knowledge of project financial management, forecasting and contracts management functions
* Strong communicator with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels
* Provide succinct updates/reporting and timely escalation of issues
* Motivated, proactive and energetic team player with a problem‐solving nature
* Be available to undertake occasional travel for on‐site assignments during critical stages of project delivery
