Overview

IGS Early Learners is a near new, purpose-built long day care centre and kindergarten service, catering for boys and girls from 6 weeks old to Pre-Prep. Our management and staff members are committed to best practice in Early Education, by nurturing young minds and empowering them for a lifetime of learning. We understand the significance of these early years in shaping a child’s future and we take pride in providing an environment that supports comprehensive development.

Operated by Ipswich Grammar School, the Centre offers exceptional care along with a range of specialist extra-curricular programs designed to enrich the children's experiences. These include swimming lessons, cooking sessions with our chef, and cultural activities such as indigenous art and education. Additionally, children have access to facilities like the Junior School Library and Sporting Facility for Bush Kindy activities. Through these opportunities, the Centre fosters a nurturing environment where children are supported in their growth and development, ensuring a well-rounded and enriching experience.

Due to an internal promotion, we are seeking a Centre Director to commence in January 2026. The successful candidate will lead our Early Learning Centre, providing strategic and operational leadership to ensure the delivery of exceptional outcomes for children, families, and staff. Reporting directly to the Head of Early Years and Care, this is a pivotal role in shaping the Centre’s success.

The Centre Director will be responsible to:

- Lead the daily operations of the Early Learning Centre, ensuring compliance with all legislative and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee curriculum planning and program delivery in line with the Early Years Learning Framework.
- Drive continuous improvement through the development and review of the Quality Improvement Plan.
- Manage enrolments, occupancy, budgets, and resources to ensure efficient and effective service delivery.
- Recruit, mentor, and develop educators, fostering a professional and collaborative team culture.
- Build strong relationships with families, staff, and the wider community, promoting trust and engagement.

Qualifications and Experience

- ACECQA-approved Degree in Early Childhood Education or Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care (or equivalent).
- Current First Aid in an Education and Care Setting, including approved Anaphylaxis and Asthma Management training.
- Valid Working with Children Check and accredited Child Protection Training.
- Minimum 3 years in a Nominated Supervisor role, or 5 years in a senior leadership role in an Early Childhood Service.
- Strong knowledge of the EYLF, Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations, National Quality Standard, Family Assistance Law (including CCS), WHS legislation, and Child Safe Standards.
- Demonstrated experience in staff leadership, program oversight, budget management, and continuous quality improvement.
- Proven ability to build collaborative relationships with families, staff, and community stakeholders.

As a condition of employment, staff are required to hold a valid Working with Children Check (Blue Card) and are required to maintain their Blue Card for the duration of employment. In addition, hold a current First Aid, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Asthma and Anaphylaxis Qualification.
