About The Role
The Production Operator is a key skilled role in the Mildura cultivation and production facility. The position delivers a broad range of production duties associated with the production of medicinal cannabis containing materials. This position works in a multi‐faceted environment, handling a multitude of tasks, including operation of production equipment, cleaning of equipment and facilities, and handling of raw materials and cannabis materials. This position will be involved in the commissioning of new equipment and processes. It requires shift work as needed by the production schedule.
Key Position Responsibilities And Accountabilities
* Carrying out routine tasks accurately and strictly following SOPs and Work Instructions
* Working safely, including following strict safety procedures
* Understanding and adhering to Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP)
* Keeping equipment operating by following operating instructions, communicating breakdowns, maintaining supplies, and raising work requests for repairs
* Escalating and responding to alarms/faults in line with agreed procedures or instructions
* Prompt escalation of all OHS, quality, production and security events/issues/deviations
* Recording production parameters, interpreting production data, and reporting on parameters as necessary
* Maintaining rigorous logs including equipment, facility and cleaning
* Establishing and maintaining production procedures and forms within Cann's Quality Management System (QMS) as directed
* Completing production documentation/batch records/labelling in line with Good Documentation Practices (GDP) and participating in document reviews
* Following schedules for cleaning and recording activities as directed
* Ensuring the production area is well‐stocked and resourced by regularly checking inventory of equipment and tools and informing the Production Supervisor of needs
* Contributing to process improvement within the production environment
* Undertaking training as directed and working proactively with the Production Manager on establishing training plans
* Assisting with training of new team members
* Ensuring controlled material is handled correctly according to established procedures
* Coordinating with the cultivation group to ensure material is transferred correctly
About You
Qualifications/Licences
* Bachelor's degree or relevant qualification in a STEM field (preferred)
* Pre‐employment Security and Health Screening
* Current Victorian Driver's Licence
Experience
* Two or more years' experience in a production environment; clean room experience preferred
* Experience in a GMP facility preferred
* Shift work experience preferred
Skills/Competencies
* Strong attention to detail
* Able to work day, afternoon, or night shift on a rotating or fixed roster
* Ability to use standard office equipment, computer equipment, and software including MS Office suite and the company's ERP system
* Good written and verbal communication skills with the ability to raise production floor issues around equipment and safety confidently
* The ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co‐workers and employees, and to work comfortably within a solid line and dotted line management structure
* Able to approach conflict or disagreement constructively and mediate in conflict as needed
* Able to work to a schedule and manage time while following direction
* Must be able to understand and work within the strict confines of the laws set forth by the state regarding its legal medical program
* Follows safety requirements and understands the importance of a safe working area
* Ability to perform manual tasks associated with manufacturing, shipping, and general warehouse operations
* Ability to work independently and achieve key metrics/KPIs
