About the role:
John Hunter Hospital is looking for a dedicated and motivated grade 2 pharmacist to become part of our pharmacy team, providing high quality clinical pharmacy services to patients and their families/carers, ensuring the provision of optimal health outcomes for patients of the Hunter New England Local Health District.
Our rotational structure provides exposure to operational and clinical areas including medical, surgical, paediatric (including oncology), dispensary, supply, production and medication safety. Our successful candidate will engage in quality improvement initiatives and projects.
Where you'll be working:
You'll be part of a dynamic multidisciplinary team where everyone's voice matters and where collective success is the ultimate goal. Our pharmacists work across both the John Hunter Hospital (JHH) and the John Hunter Children's Hospital (JHCH).
The next twelve months will see our lots of exiting change – HNELHD is tranche one for the Statewide Single Digital Patient Record (SDPR) rollout; the first stage of the John Hunter Hospital Innovation Precinct will open seeing a new acute services building and following this a refit to a whole new pharmacy department.
About you:
* You have a minimum of three years hospital pharmacy experience and can demonstrate meeting the requirements of a grade 2 pharmacist as outlined in the Pharmacy State Award (applicants approaching eligibility for grade 2 may be considered)
* You have great clinical knowledge that you actively apply in a practical day-to-day way to support appropriate clinical decision making.
* You have excellent attention to detail and prioritisation skills
* You possess the ability to provide patient-focused care in a busy, ever-changing environment
* You happily work within established processes and procedures with a readiness to contribute to ongoing improvements
* You embrace reflective learning and are driven to develop your own skillset
Requirements:
* Current Pharmacist registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) with no restrictions on practice.
* Willingness and ability to participate in on-call, afterhours, weekend and public holiday work as required.

* To be eligible for permanent employment in this position you must be an Australian Citizen, or a permanent resident of Australia, or a New Zealand citizen with a current New Zealand Passport.
