Lifeguards use their skills in accident prevention and rescue response to ensure the safety of individuals who are using an aquatic facility. SLSNT provides Lifeguard services to a number of facilities across Darwin.
Lifeguard Training Program
SLSNT will provide paid training required to become a Lifeguard.
Successful applicants will be employed as Trainee Lifeguards and invited to take part in the Lifeguard Training Program to gain their qualifications. Get paid whilst training, including dedicated training blocks and on the job training.
At the end of the Program, Trainee Lifeguards will be recognised as qualified Lifeguards and able to work at most SLSNT facilities.
About you
Aspiring lifeguards must be:
at least 16 years of age
able to hold a valid Ochre Card
currently hold or ability to gain a Defence Common Access Card (DCAC)
able to complete a 200m swim in under six (6) minutes
willing and able to work both weekday and weekend shifts (ongoing)
Availability
You would ideally be available for:
One swim test and short interview held the week of the 8th of December ****
Training block from Monday 15th of December until the 19th of December ****
On the job training from Saturday 20th December **** (shifts based on your availability)
