About the Opportunity
The successful candidate will hold a senior academic and operational leadership role at our institution while based in Perth. This position encompasses innovative academic pursuits, operational management, community engagement, and the advancement of teaching and research quality.
The appointed individual will serve as an ex officio member of various committees, participating remotely as required.
Key Responsibilities
* Contribute to the development of business programs in response to evolving industry, student, and regulatory expectations.
* Collaborate with colleagues across campus locations to drive academic integration and innovation in Business School courses.
* Liaise with support staff to manage academic staffing, timetabling, and workload allocation ensuring teaching requirements are met each term.
* Ensure compliance with relevant policies, frameworks, and regulatory directives concerning the Business School's courses.
* In collaboration with the Director of Learning and Teaching, lead quality assurance initiatives addressing any deficiencies arising from feedback, graduate surveys or regulatory assessments.
* Lead performance reviews, professional development, and teaching quality assurance at the Perth campus.
* Contribute to course reviews and manage accreditations with professional organisations.
* Foster a culture of scholarship within the School, mentoring academic staff in research and publication.
* Cultivate partnerships with Australian and international institutions to build articulation pathways and enhance academic collaborations.
* Support course promotion and student recruitment activities, ensuring messaging accurately reflects the School's academic strengths.
* Represent the Business School in local forums, industry panels, and recruitment events.
* Promote active engagement with local and national industries, government agencies, and professional bodies.
Qualifications and Experience
* A doctoral qualification or equivalent in a business-related discipline.
* Demonstrated academic leadership experience at the department, faculty, or institutional level in an Australian university or private sector equivalent.
* A strong record of achievement in teaching and research relevant to business education.
* Knowledge of Australia's higher education regulatory framework, TEQSA pronouncements, and accreditation requirements of relevant professional organisations.
* Sound decision-making, transparency, and a commitment to academic excellence and ethical practice.
* A collaborative ethos, fostering a respectful and inclusive campus culture.
* A sensitivity to the needs of diverse student populations, including international cohorts.
* Capacity to manage complexity with calm resolve, resourcefulness, and independence.
* A willingness to adapt to emerging educational trends.
