The Role Working closely with our Engineering Manager and the senior engineers on the team, you’ll be a Junior AI Engineer on the Model Platform team. This is a fantastic opportunity to grow your skills and make a real impact at the core of Heidi’s intelligent products. Your mission is to learn rapidly and contribute hands-on to the tooling and systems that power our AI, helping us build the factory that enables our product teams to succeed. What you’ll do: Implement Evaluation Components: Write code for our evaluation framework, working on specific features under the guidance of senior engineers. Partner with product, medical knowledge and design teams to automate prompt engineering, build agentic AI, create model evaluation frameworks. Build cutting-edge LLM features within Heidi using the latest tools and frameworks Assist in Model Fine-tuning: Support the team's efforts to monitor and improve model performance, latency, and cost. Contribute to AI Systems: Help build and test components for our agentic workflows. Learn and Grow: Actively participate in code reviews, design discussions, and team meetings, absorbing as much as you can from a world-class team. What we will look for: Previous hands-on experience building scalable AI products or features You have a demonstrated passion for AI/LLM, with experience building projects (these can be personal, academic, or from internships). You have a solid foundation in Python and a familiarity with core software engineering principles. You have a foundational understanding of machine learning concepts and an eagerness to learn about LLMs, vector search, and MLOps. A strong desire to learn, a can-do attitude, and a passion for solving problems are the most important things we look for. Optimise AI features for accuracy, latency, scalability, and cost with AI agent design & fine-tuning. Bonus: Internship experience in a software engineering or data science role.
