The Role
Are you a highly skilled and experienced Senior Finance Analyst seeking an exciting opportunity with one of Australia's fastest-growing premium retail brands? Look no further! We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Finance Analyst to join the team to work closely with the Chief Financial Officer and Senior Manager Commercial Finance. It is an exciting time to join the business in a growth phase within the luxury space. In your role, you will hold responsibilities including quantitative and qualitative analyses of the performance of the business. This involves providing analytical support to maximize sales performance, merchandising and financial analysis, analysing sales reports, and evaluating retail performance, and making recommendations. As part of the role, you will also be required to engage with senior operational stakeholders to provide insight and analysis to drive performance.
Key Responsibilities
* Identify and build strong relationships with key internal stakeholders across the business.
* Gather, review, and analyse key business and commercial data including financial reports, budgets, sales results, forecasts, KPIs and other key metrics to support business improvement strategies.
* Seek continuous improvement of financial accounting processes to enable the delivery of an efficient and streamlined service, documenting changes to processes and procedures as required.
* Modelling of business processes and systems, identifying opportunities for business improvements.
* Preparation of deeply informed performance commentary across all periodic reporting requirements relating to sales, margin, marketing, and other performance aspects as required.
* Responsible for underlying information database management, ensuring the integrity of commercial information and consistent availability of information across the business at all times, and where required assisting with the implementation of appropriate data tools to improve planning, analytics, and reporting.
* Participate in other accounting/finance and business-related projects.
About You
* Degree-level qualification in Accounting or Business-related disciplines.
* Strong knowledge of 3-way financial model.
* Demonstrable and relevant experience in the retail industry.
* Minimum 3-5 years' experience within a professional commercial analyst role.
* Commercial/analytical mindset with advanced Excel skills (modelling, power query, pivot tables, data analysis) who can support commercial finance and other project related activities.
* Experience with BI tools and SQL database systems such as: Power Query, Power BI, and similar will be highly regarded.
* Knowledge of SAP or similar accounting software.
* Proficient report writing and presentation skills.
* Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
* Excellent organisational and time management skills.
* Ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels in the organisation.
* Self-starter with the ability to prioritise responsibilities under pressure and be self-motivated with minimal supervision.
