Make a real impact where it matters most – join the Prison Mental Health Service as a Senior Mental Health Professional. In your new role you will provide in-reach mental health triage, assessment, treatment and transition service to persons in prison with a mental illnesses.
About Us:
We provide direct clinical care for Prison Mental Health Service clients with complex mental health issues including assessment, diagnosis, input into treatment planning and promoting evidence-based care. In addition, the PMHS works collaboratively with a range of other government and non-government agencies, including Queensland Corrective Services in the ongoing care and treatment of persons with a mental illness.
About You:
* Undertake time-limited treatment specific work with clients in respect of alcohol and or drug misuse, motivational interviewing, relapse prevention, harm-minimisation, management and rehabilitation.
* Advocate for the needs of people with mental health problems and their families.
* Utilise discipline-specific clinical skills and knowledge to carry out assessment and/or interventions for clients of the Prison Mental Health Service.
* Establish and maintain collaborative partnerships with identified internal and external key stakeholders to facilitate access to services and integration and continuity of care for PMHS clients.
* Provide education, direction, and supervision for routine tasks to less experienced staff, and students.
* Maintain supervision and professional development requirements based on professional body and organisational requirements.
* Demonstrate high level clinical and time management skills in screening and prioritising workload demands in a complex and high patient clinical environment.
