About This Opportunity
The Health Promotion Officer role will contribute to the development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of a community health promotion plan in line with Department of Health guidelines and local needs.
This position will provide effective leadership and coordination of health promotion and community-based programs within the Primary Health Team and the surrounding area.
Programs will be implemented to optimize health outcomes through delivering planned and appropriate population-based health promotion actions that enhance physical, social, cultural and psychological wellbeing.
Evidence-based health promotion initiatives will be developed and implemented, raising awareness among stakeholders and developing skills and knowledge to prevent disease.
Strategic planning using place-based prevention principles and systems thinking will be applied to develop solutions improving health and wellbeing outcomes.
Partnerships will be built at a community level to support the health and wellbeing of local residents.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and implement a community health promotion plan in line with Department of Health guidelines and local needs
* Provide effective leadership and coordination of health promotion and community-based programs
* Implement programs to optimize health outcomes through population-based health promotion actions
* Develop and implement evidence-based health promotion initiatives, including stakeholder awareness raising and disease prevention initiatives
* Apply strategic planning principles to develop solutions improving health and wellbeing outcomes
* Build partnerships at a community level to support the health and wellbeing of local residents
