**Your next career opportunity** 
As a Contracts Officer at the University of Melbourne, you'll play a crucial role in facilitating research and commercial agreements. You'll have the opportunity to draft, review, and negotiate contracts while providing expert commercial advice to academic and professional stakeholders. This role offers you the chance to develop your legal expertise in a dynamic university environment, collaborating with diverse teams to drive innovative research partnerships. 
**Your responsibilities will include**: 
- **Drafting and Negotiating Agreements**: Review, advise on, and finalise research and commercial engagement contracts, seeking legal advice when necessary. 
- **Building Strong Relationships**: Cultivate productive working relationships with researchers, RIC staff, faculty members, and external clients to ensure smooth business operations. 
- **Providing Contract Support**: Process contracts, report on their status, and support junior team members in their development. 
- **Ensuring Compliance**: Adhere to the University's risk management framework, including relevant legislation, statutes, regulations, and policies.

- Have a law degree with experience in commercial or government contracting. 
- Possess a good working knowledge of contract law, commercial contracting, and intellectual property. 
- Demonstrate strong time management and organisational skills. 
- Have the ability to work effectively in a team and support colleagues on various projects.
