About the Role
We are seeking a Principal Electrical, Instrumentation and Controls Engineer to play a key role in ensuring the successful execution of engineering projects. In this role, you will mentor other team members, drive innovation and provide technical expertise and advice to our team and clients.
With a background in project delivery, you will support project teams and clients by offering advice, solving challenges and delivering innovative solutions to ensure successful outcomes.
Key responsibilities include:
- Provide technical advice and guidance to project teams and clients, ensuring successful project delivery.
- Oversee planning, execution and delivery of engineering projects, ensuring alignment with ATSYS frameworks and business objectives.
- Identify training needs, mentor team members and foster a collaborative environment for knowledge sharing.
- Coordinate with stakeholders and manage project needs, ensuring smooth execution and timely delivery.
- Identify, assess and manage risks, ensuring minimal impact on project outcomes.
- Build strong and mutually beneficial relationships with clients and stakeholders.
- Proactively seek new business opportunities with existing and potential clients to drive growth.
- Lead continuous improvement efforts, refining processes, systems and procedures to enhance efficiency.
- Assist in refining estimation methods and metrics, supporting cost estimation and technical deliverables for projects and new designs.
- Promote an inclusive and supportive team culture, encouraging collaboration and a positive work environment.
- Identify and report risks and hazards, reinforcing the ATSYS safety culture.
- Leverage new tools and techniques to improve team efficiency and productivity, staying current with industry trends and technologies.
About You
We are looking for someone that has:
- Industry awareness (renewables, oil and gas, energy, infrastructure and/or mining).
- 10+ years of electrical, instrumentation and control engineering experience.
- Expertise in Industrial vendor technologies such as Rockwell Automation / Allen-Bradley, Schneider Electric and/or Siemens.
- Hands-on project experience with technical skills in:
- LV power system design and modelling using ETAP / PowerCad
- Electrical system calculations
- Electrical, Control and Instrumentation fundamentals
- Hazardous Areas
- Technical Report writing
- Industrial Communications
- Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) / Site Acceptance Testing (SAT)
Desirable competencies are:
- RPEQ and/or CPEng certification.
- TUV Machine Safety training.
- Other technical skills in:
- HV power system design and modelling using ETAP / Powercad
- Arc Flash Analysis
- Harmonic Analysis
- Earthing System Design
