Bayswater Bar & Grill in Hervey Bay is looking for an experienced and motivated Sous Chef to join our kitchen leadership team.
Our busy venue is known for quality pub dining, strong trade, and a welcoming local following.
Working alongside the Head Chef, you'll help run daily kitchen operations, lead the team on service, and ensure high standards of food quality and consistency.
What you'll be doing:
Supporting the Head Chef with daily kitchen operations
Leading the team during service and stepping in as needed
Maintaining food quality, presentation, and consistency
Assisting with ordering, stock control, and minimising waste
Ensuring food safety and HACCP compliance
Training, mentoring, and motivating junior chefs
What we're looking for:
Previous Sous Chef experience or a strong Senior CDP ready to step up
Experience in a high-volume, fast-paced kitchen
Strong leadership and communication skills
Solid understanding of food safety and kitchen systems
Calm and organised under pressure
