A global freight forwarding business is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to drive new customer acquisition across international air and ocean freight.
This is a field-based sales role focused on winning new logos, developing solution-led proposals and building a sustainable pipeline across VIC. It will suit a commercially driven sales professional with strong freight forwarding knowledge and a hunter mindset.
The Opportunity
You’ll be responsible for growing international freight volumes by identifying and converting new B2B customers. Working autonomously in the field, you’ll engage decision-makers, understand supply chain challenges and position tailored air and ocean solutions.
The role offers strong earnings potential and the opportunity to work with a broad, global product offering supported by established operational teams.
Key Responsibilities
• Drive new business acquisition across air and ocean freight forwarding
• Identify, qualify and pursue prospective customers across target industries
• Develop and present tailored freight and supply chain solutions
• Lead commercial discussions, pricing and contract negotiations
• Build and manage a robust sales pipeline and forecast activity
• Work closely with internal operations and support teams to ensure solution viability
• Maintain strong post-sale engagement to support retention and growth
About You
• Experience selling international freight forwarding solutions
• Strong understanding of air and/or ocean freight products
• Track record of new business development and pipeline growth
• Confidence engaging senior stakeholders and decision-makers
• Strong negotiation, influencing and presentation skills
• Broader supply chain knowledge (warehousing or domestic transport advantageous)
