This role is ideal for an editor who thrives on storytelling through filmic techniques and understands the unique demands of YouTube content. You will work with a director-provided voiceover, script, and high-quality 4K visual assets to craft immersive, blockbuster-level videos that captivate audiences and maximize viewer retention.
Responsibilities
* Seamlessly assemble 8–10 minute videos using provided scripts, voiceovers, and visual assets, ensuring a cohesive and cinematic narrative flow.
* Apply advanced editing techniques such as speed ramping, smart zooms, optical flow morphs, and creative transitions to enhance continuity and visual impact.
* Design and implement world-class soundscapes, including Foley effects (swords, fire, wind), cinematic risers, impacts, and epic background scores to bring silent footage to life.
* Integrate high-quality VFX overlays (sparks, dust, weather, camera shake, light leaks) to add realism and polish to each scene.
* Collaborate closely with the director to maintain the intended tone, pacing, and emotional resonance throughout each project.
Skills And Requirements
* Demonstrated experience editing cinematic YouTube documentaries, trailers, or short films with a strong portfolio showcasing advanced storytelling and sound design.
* Mastery of professional video editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or Final Cut Pro).
* Proficient in sound design, including sourcing and mixing Foley, SFX, and music to create immersive audio environments.
* Strong understanding of YouTube retention strategies and pacing for digital audiences.
* Ability to creatively solve challenges related to AI-generated visuals and ensure seamless scene transitions.
* Detail-oriented, with a commitment to delivering polished, high-quality work on schedule.
* Excellent communication skills and ability to interpret creative direction.
