For more than 40 years, Peninsula Home Hospice (PHH) has supported individuals and families to live well and die well, delivering specialist palliative care in the place most people choose to be — home. Deeply trusted by its community and partners, PHH plays a critical role across the Mornington Peninsula, Frankston and surrounding regions.
With the planned retirement of its current Chief Executive Officer, PHH is seeking a calm, emotionally intelligent and experienced CEO to lead the organisation through its next phase of strategic development. This is a well‑timed, planned transition. The organisation is stable, values‑led and supported by a committed Board, and is now looking for a leader who can both honour PHH’s legacy and guide it confidently forward.
The Role
Reporting to the Board, the Chief Executive Officer is responsible for the overall leadership, performance and sustainability of Peninsula Home Hospice. The role encompasses strong clinical and corporate governance, financial stewardship, workforce leadership and external engagement.
This is a visible, hands‑on leadership role in a clinically led, community‑based environment. The CEO must bring strong emotional intelligence, build trust across a skilled multidisciplinary workforce, and create clarity and momentum in a constrained and evolving funding landscape.
A core focus of the role will be leading the development and implementation of PHH’s next Strategic Plan (2027–2032), alongside strengthening culture, leadership capability and strategic community engagement.
The CEO is also PHH’s primary external representative and advocate, working closely with the Board to engage government, health system partners, aged care providers, donors and the broader community.
