Roads ACT is seeking a motivated and experienced professional to manage CED’s Stormwater Harvesting Network, the Inner North Reticulation Network (INRN) within the Environment and Utilities team.

Roads ACT is responsible for the management of the territorial and municipal roads, national highways, community paths, stormwater network, bridges, carpark facilities, traffic signals, streetlights and associated infrastructure. Roads ACT manage these assets on behalf of the ACT Government for the enjoyment of the Canberra community.

This position is responsible for the management of CED’s Stormwater Harvesting Network, the Inner North Reticulation Network (INRN). The role provides Strategic oversight and leadership across the full asset life cycle, including planning, development, operation and maintenance of the network. The applicant will lead the operation of the regulated utility to ensure it delivers outcomes that are economically sound, environmentally sustainable and socially responsible, while maintaining compliance with all relevant legislative and regulatory requirements.

The successful applicant will provide strategic and technical leadership across the network, with responsibility for asset management, operational performance, contract administration, and the coordination of stakeholder engagement. You will be part of a highly skilled Asset Management Services team, working collaboratively to deliver innovative and sustainable infrastructure outcomes. We are seeking applicants with territory qualifications in civil or structural engineering (or related discipline) which is highly desirable, together with demonstrated experience in the construction industry.

Eligibility/ Other Requirements:

* Driver’s licence (class C) - essential.
* Hold a relevant professional qualification in Engineering, Architecture or Project Management or accreditation with a professional body recognised within Australia; or hold a relevant building degree; or have significant building or Infrastructure knowledge and/or project management experience or Territory qualifications in civil engineering and/or related technical disciplines is highly desirable.
* Relevant stormwater harvesting industry experience is highly desirable.
* Procurement, project management/contract management skills are highly desirable.
* Experience working on construction sites is desirable.
* Visa holders are eligible to apply for both permanent and temporary roles. Those with eligible visas may be considered for permanent employment, while individuals with temporary residency or limited-duration visas may be offered permanent employment for the duration of their visas.
* This position does require a pre-employment medical.
* This position does not require a Working with Vulnerable People Check.

Note: This is a temporary position available March 2026 until August 2026 with the possibility of extension up to 12 months and/or permanency. A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months. Selection may be based on application and referee reports only.
