Position Purpose:
The Casual Tutor will deliver high-quality academic teaching, marking, and student support to ensure academic quality objectives are met. The role requires working with integrity to foster a positive student experience.
Key Responsibilities / Selection Criteria:
* Teaching and Learning: Deliver engaging tutorial sessions that cater to diverse learning needs, including using blended learning approaches and digital technologies. Provide academic expertise and professional guidance during the unit delivery period, as guided by the Unit Assessor. Maintain an inclusive and safe learning environment for all students.
* Assessment:. Support students in understanding the key aspects of the assessment tasks.
* Continuous improvement: Actively contribute to enhancing the quality of teaching and learning through reflective practice and shared with the Unit Assessor. Collaborate with colleagues and participate in training or feedback sessions.
* Student Support and Intervention: Monitor academic performance and identify students who require additional support.

This role will require the incumbent to perform the duties on-site on campus or in the physical office. At the company's direction, this role may sometimes be required to work remotely (away from the physical office location). Regardless of work location, key targets, tasks, goals, and projects must be delivered following the position description and area or entity OGSM (Objective, Goals, Strategies and Measures).
Qualifications, Technical skills, and Experience:
* A PhD in a relevant discipline from an accredited Australian university or equivalent
* Eligibility to work in Australia
* Demonstrated excellence in the relevant discipline courses at the undergraduate and postgraduate level
* Demonstrated excellence in developing applied curriculum in the relevant courses at the undergraduate and postgraduate level
* At least 5+ years of relevant experience in the field of study and evidenced and supported by original work
* Demonstrated planning, organisational and communications skills in an academic environment
* Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft suite of programs, internet-based research and the ability to learn and adapt to new systems quickly
* Experience with student management systems (e.g., Blackboard, Moodle) and other database/information storage systems (e.g., SharePoint)
* Ability to meet ongoing deadlines and work under pressure
* Demonstrated high level of attention to detail, accuracy, time management and organisational skills
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* 'Can do' attitude with a flexible approach
