We are seeking a General Manager – Product Development to lead this evolution — shaping how AI is applied at scale to create competitive advantage, accelerate delivery, and unlock new customer value.
About the Role
Reporting to a senior executive leader, you will lead a globally distributed, multi-disciplinary engineering organisation spanning software, embedded systems, hardware, and QA.
This role goes beyond traditional engineering leadership.
You will be responsible for:
Integrating AI into product development and engineering workflows
Building an AI-enabled engineering organisation
Driving the evolution toward more intelligent, data-driven products and platforms
Working in close partnership with Product Management, you will ensure engineering execution is tightly aligned to product strategy, customer value, and commercial outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and scale a global engineering organisation delivering complex, integrated technology solutions
Co-own the translation of product strategy into engineering and platform execution
Define and drive the organisation's approach to AI within product development, including:
AI-enabled product capabilities
Data and platform readiness to support AI at scale
Build and embed AI capability across engineering teams, lifting productivity, quality, and speed of delivery
Establish governance frameworks to ensure responsible, secure, and effective use of AI
Drive adoption of modern engineering practices (DevOps, CI/CD, platform thinking, automation)
Ensure strong alignment between engineering delivery and product lifecycle priorities
Lead innovation and continuous improvement across global teams
Contribute at an executive level to business strategy, planning, and growth initiatives
What You Bring
You are an experienced engineering leader who has successfully delivered complex products and built high-performing teams — and you are motivated by the opportunity to lead technology and capability transformation at scale.
You will bring:
Proven experience leading multi-disciplinary engineering teams (software, hardware, embedded) in global environments
Demonstrated success in transforming engineering organisations (capability uplift, new practices, improved delivery performance)
Experience working in product-led or product-aligned environments, with a strong focus on customer value and outcomes
Strong understanding of modern software engineering practices (cloud, DevOps, distributed systems)
Critically, you will also bring:
Experience introducing or scaling AI-enabled engineering practices or data-driven development approaches
Strong understanding of how AI can be applied in real-world products and engineering workflows
The ability to translate emerging technologies into practical, scalable solutions that deliver customer value
A clear perspective on responsible AI usage, including security, data privacy, and intellectual property considerations
Leadership & Personal Capability
Strategic thinker with the ability to translate vision into execution
Strong commercial acumen — able to balance customer, technical, and business priorities
Highly influential leader, comfortable engaging at executive and board level
