We are seeking talented Specialist Anaesthetists for a variety of roles based in the Melbourne outer metro area and Regional Victoria.

Hospital is perfectly located with easy access to Melbourne as well as superb beaches, restaurants and wineries of the Peninsula, Surf Coast and the Great Ocean Road.
Full time Specialist position focuses on provision of clinical services. Incumbent will also be involved in academic and teaching activities in close association with Deakin University academic staff. The Deakin University Medical School has a Rural Clinical School based in the town.
Hospital is a fully integrated facility with 282 beds (216 acute, 36 aged care, 30 mental health). Warrnambool campus (212 beds) provides acute, rehabilitation and mental health care, plus outpatient services. Wards include medicine, surgery, obstetrics and gynaecology, 6-bed critical care unit, dialysis, emergency, inpatient psychiatry, GEM and rehabilitation. Three fully equipped operating theatres and a separate endoscopy suite. Hospital is technologically advanced.
Position will be predominantly clinically focused, with some management functions associated with the role.
Locations and Responsibilities
Warrnambool – opportunity to develop areas of clinical interest: ICU, perioperative medicine, pain management, quality improvement. Support expanding and improving quality of anaesthetic services.
Sale – provide clinical expertise and excellent service in anaesthesia and perioperative medicine (including theatre, acute pain, preadmission clinic, delivery suite, and other duties as determined by director).
Bendigo – provide anaesthesia and related services to all interventional disciplines except Cardiac Surgery, Neurosurgery, and Transplant Surgery.
Werribee (Melbourne) – provide elective and emergency anaesthetic services to specialty areas including general surgery, orthopaedics, urology, ENT, paediatrics, obstetrics. Accredited ANZCA training site.
Summary of the Role
Clinical duties include peri-operative anaesthetic and resuscitation care of in-patients, including anaesthesia and analgesia services to patients in the birth suite, operating theatres, wards, ICU and the emergency department. Actively participate in coordination of weekly pre-anaesthetic outpatient clinics and departmental education and quality assurance activities. Provide high quality care both in and after-hours and participate fully in department activities.

FANZCA or equivalent
Current registration with AHPRA and ANZCA
High standard of written and verbal communication skills
Practical approach to problem solving
Ability to work collaboratively with the team
