Expressions of Interest: Exploration Camp Crew (2:1 Roster)
Are you a versatile hospitality professional who thrives in a close-knit team? We are launching a new exploration project and seeking a dedicated three-person crew to manage our 12-room camp. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a small, high-functioning environment where everyone plays a vital role in keeping the site running smoothly. All roles operate on 2 weeks on, 1 week off (2:1) roster, day shift only.
Available Positions
Cook / Allrounder
Breakfast Cook / Utility – The "early bird" of the camp. You are the face of the morning, ensuring the team starts their day with a quality meal before transitioning into maintaining our living quarters.
* Morning: Prep and cook a full hot breakfast for 10-12 personnel.
* Mid-Morning: Full clean and reset of the kitchen and dining area post-breakfast.
* Day: Daily cleaning and servicing of 12 accommodation rooms, including shared ablutions (toilets/showers) and laundry areas.
The ultimate flex role. You provide essential relief and variety, alternating responsibilities each week of your swing.
* Week 1 (Breakfast Cook / Housekeeping): Support the camp by handling the Breakfast service and full Room Cleaning (as detailed in Role 1).
* Week 2 (Crib & Dinner Cook): Step into the kitchen to manage the full suite of cooking tasks, including crib (lunch) prep, dinner service, and evening kitchen/dining cleanup.
Chef
The lead for the camp's culinary operations. This role leads the kitchen operations with a focus on high-standard service delivery and efficient stock management.
* Management: Full meal planning, inventory management, and weekly stock ordering.
* Operations: Coordination with the Cook/Allrounder to ensure a seamless weekly meal plan.
* Service: Preparation of daily crib (lunches) and high-quality dinner service.
* Cleanup: Responsible for kitchen/dining hygiene and dishwashing at the end of the shift.
What We Are Looking For
* Experience: Proven background in remote site catering, commercial cooking, or industrial cleaning.
* Independence: The ability to work without constant supervision in a small-team environment.
* Communication: Strong interpersonal skills in a 12-person camp, a positive attitude is everything.
* Safety First: High standards of food safety (HACCP) and chemical handling.
* Reliability: You take pride in "owning" your space, whether it's a clean room or a perfectly cooked meal.
Requirements
* Relevant Trade Certificate (for Chef/Cook roles) or significant industry experience.
* Current First Aid certificate
* Current Safe Food Handling Certificate
* Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug/alcohol screen.
* Valid Manual Driver's License.
