Opportunity
Plays a key role in protecting and improving Council's drainage assets and supporting safe, sustainable development as our new Drainage & Development Engineer. You'll lead drainage investigations and design, assess engineering development applications, and work closely with developers, consultants and internal teams to ensure infrastructure meets required standards. With a strong focus on flood mitigation, community safety and integrated water management, you'll combine your technical expertise with collaboration and customer service.
What You'll Be Doing
* Leading drainage investigations, design and asset management programs to support flood mitigation
* Assessing and reviewing engineering development applications and designs for compliance
* Coordinating developer-funded drainage and engineering works through to construction
* Managing engineering information requests, including Legal Point of Discharge and easements
* Providing clear technical advice and collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders
What You'll Need To Succeed
* Degree in Civil Engineering (or related discipline)
* Strong experience in drainage engineering and development assessment
* Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, standards and best practice guidelines
* Proven ability to manage consultants, contractors and diverse stakeholders
* Eligible for membership with Engineers Australia (or equivalent)
