Head of IT Cadence Connect has been retained and is proud to partner exclusively with our client in the search for an experienced and capable Head of IT. With their national head office based in Brisbane’s south, you will join a modern workplace with state-of-the-art facilities. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a growing, forward-thinking organisation in the retail and hospitality sector at a pivotal stage of transformation. As Head of IT, you will manage the organisation’s technology operations with a focus on infrastructure, service delivery and enterprise systems that support business performance. Working across both corporate and franchise operations nationwide, you will provide direction and technical expertise to ensure IT consistently supports organisational goals. Reporting directly to the Chief Operations Officer, you will deliver structured insights on performance, risks and opportunities, ensuring technology is a reliable driver of growth. Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement the organisation’s IT strategy in line with business objectives Oversee the management, maintenance and security of all IT systems, applications, networks and databases Ensure systems are scalable, reliable and aligned with industry best practice Lead the selection, implementation and integration of new technologies and platforms Establish and enforce IT security policies and protocols to safeguard data and systems Manage risk assessments, disaster recovery planning and business continuity strategies Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, standards and data protection regulations Lead, mentor and develop the IT team to foster accountability, capability and continuous learning Allocate resources effectively to support business priorities Conduct quarterly vulnerability scans and report findings as required Implement phishing campaigns and run educational sessions to promote cybersecurity awareness About You
Minimum of three years’ experience leading an IT helpdesk or infrastructure team Proven experience in a retail, QSR or multi-site hospitality technology setting (essential) Strong understanding of cybersecurity practices, including Essential 8, ISO27001 and PCI DSS Knowledge of data privacy practices and laws Demonstrated success in IT infrastructure planning and development Strong understanding of project management and people management principles Experience negotiating with technology suppliers Experience within a franchise or distributed network environment will be highly regarded Qualifications
University degree in computer science, information systems or a related field, with at least three years of relevant work experience Certifications in ITIL and project management are advantageous What You Will Bring
