About us
Adaptive Aid Solutions is a small, active NDIS provider supporting teens and young adults with psychosocial and mental health disabilities across Lake Macquarie, Newcastle and the Central Coast.
We’re not a “tick-the-box” provider. We build simple weekly routines, get people out of the house, and actually show up.
About the role
We’re hiring male and female NDIS support workers based in Lake Macquarie .
Most supports are 1:1 community access and in-home supports with teens and young adults.
You’ll help participants with things like:
* Getting out of the house: walks, swimming, gym, sport, cafes, shops
* Building weekday routines and basic life skills at home
* Attending appointments and running errands
* Managing psychosocial / mental health support needs in real life (not therapy)
We prioritise building 9am–4pm weekday caseloads .
Reality: you’ll usually start with more after-school shifts (approx 3pm–7pm) while we fill your daytime participants, then transition toward more 9–4 hours as your caseload grows.
Employment type & hours
* We are aiming to build a stable part-time team for consistency
* Many workers start on casual while we confirm fit and build regular participants, then transition to part-time once hours are stable
* Minimum 3-hour shifts
* Mix of:
o Weekdays 9am–4pm (growth focus)
o After-school / early evening (current biggest demand)
* Expectation: minimum 2–3 regular shifts per week
Pay is under the SCHADS Award, level based on skills and experience (casual loading where applicable).
You’re a good fit if you
* Live in or very close to Lake Macquarie
* Are calm, reliable and can take the lead with teens and young adults
* Are comfortable with psychosocial / mental health and big emotions
* Enjoy being active (this is not a desk job)
* Communicate clearly with families and the office
* Want consistent participants, not random one-off shifts
Requirements
* NDIS Worker Screening Check (or eligible to obtain)
* NSW Working With Children Check (paid)
* Current First Aid & CPR (or booked in)
* Unrestricted driver’s licence, reliable car, comprehensive insurance
* Permanent right to work in Australia
* Smartphone and confidence using apps for rosters and notes
* Willing to work as an employee under SCHADS (not ABN/contractor)
