The Role
Our Lagoon Street site is situated in the Bega Valley Shire and is the original site of Bega Cheese. Located on the beautiful Sapphire Coast, far south coast of NSW, Lagoon Street is still producing Australia's favourite cheese products – cheddar cheese, string cheese as well as butter. The Casual Bulk Production Operator supports day‐to‐day manufacturing activities across bulk cheese, maturation, milk receivals, whey powder, and butter departments. This role involves operating and monitoring processing equipment, performing cleaning and sanitation tasks, and maintaining high standards of food safety, quality, and workplace safety. The position requires flexibility to work across multiple production areas and variable shift times, the ability to follow standard operating procedures, and a strong team‐focused attitude in a fast‐paced food manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
* Respect and observe the Bega Cheese values, policies and procedures, and follow Bega Cheese standard operating procedures.
* Monitor and operate production lines; troubleshoot and report any issues; reject non‐conforming product.
* Correctly sample and test products and accurately complete log sheets.
* Ensure the worksite is maintained in accordance with housekeeping procedures.
* Provide training to other employees where required.
About you
* Experience in a manufacturing environment.
* Basic computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
* Team collaboration and ability to work independently.
* Basic numeracy and literacy skills.
* Strong time‐management skills and ability to work under pressure.
