We are seeking a skilled professional to join our First Nations Heritage Protection team as an Assistant Director.
Job Description
The successful candidate will work closely with our Heritage Division to conserve, protect and sustainably manage Australia's biodiversity, heritage, oceans and First Nations heritage.
This role is ideal for someone who has a strong understanding of the issues affecting Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people and can communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander communities.
The Assistant Director will be responsible for developing and implementing policies, programs and regulations for the protection of First Nations cultural heritage.
Key Responsibilities:
* Developing and implementing policies and programs for the protection of First Nations cultural heritage;
* Working closely with the Heritage Division to conserve, protect and sustainably manage Australia's biodiversity, heritage, oceans and First Nations heritage;
Requirements:
* A strong understanding of the issues affecting Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people;
* An ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander communities;
* Excellent project management skills;
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
