At Capgemini Engineering, we're seeking a driven and experienced Network Operations Lead to join our team in Melbourne. As the Network Operations Lead, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation and reliability of our network systems. Your responsibilities will include providing leadership oversight to a diverse team of engineering professionals, managing third-party consortium partners, and implementing industry best practices to maintain optimal network performance.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Develop and implement practices and processes aligned with service lifecycle management functions, including Change Management, Configuration Management, Incident Management, Problem Management, Event Management, Knowledge Management, and Service Improvement.
- Provide indirect management oversight over the entire technology lifecycle within the network space, encompassing Routing and Switching, Radio Frequency (RF), and mission-critical surveillance solutions.
- Ensure quality network service by establishing and enforcing managed hosting standards, metrics, and industry best practices.
- Address stakeholder requests such as Service Orders, Service Disconnects, and User Account creation.
- Collaborate with consortium partners to plan, design, build, install, and configure new network and security capabilities tailored to enterprise network needs.
- Proactively anticipate risks and constraints, developing solutions to mitigate impacts on schedule and user experience.
- Take a consultative approach to major activities and projects, documenting requirements accurately and developing clear execution plans.
**Qualifications**:
- Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of nine (9) years of relevant work experience, or a Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of related experience.
- ITIL v4 practitioner certification with at least four (4) years of experience implementing best practices in an Operations Center.
**Desirable Skills**:
- Familiarity with mission-critical network operations and procedures.
- Experience with network operations tools such as ServiceNow, Grafana, InfluxDB, Cisco DNA Center, VMware, Splunk, Icinga, and Netbox.
- Proficiency in continual improvement of network operations procedures and training.
- Strong supervisory and motivational skills.
- Advanced knowledge of network design and implementation, including SD-WAN, SD-LAN, MPLS, DWDM, and Pseudo-wire Emulation (PWE).
- Extensive experience with Cisco routers and switches, Juniper routers and switches, Rohde & Schwarz radio systems, VMware, and Telephony technologies.
- Detailed understanding of network security, including Firewalls, VPNs, Proxies, and DDI.
- Familiarity with automation tools such as Ansible and scripting languages like Python would be advantageous.
