Key Responsibilities of the Senior Finance Manager
Financial Leadership
Lead and develop the finance function across the Group.
Act as a trusted business partner to Directors and Shareholders.
Mentor and develop onshore and offshore finance team members.
Drive continuous improvement in finance processes, systems, and reporting.
Financial Reporting & Compliance
Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting across all Group entities.
Manage audit, taxation, statutory reporting, and governance requirements.
Ensure compliance with accounting standards and relevant legislation.
Budgeting, Forecasting & Performance
Lead annual budgeting and rolling forecasting processes.
Monitor business performance against budgets and strategic objectives.
Provide financial analysis and recommendations to support decision‐making.
Monitor project profitability, utilisation, recovery rates, and project margins.
Oversee WIP, unbilled revenue, write‐offs, and project financial reporting.
Partner with operational leaders to improve project performance and profitability.
Cash Flow & Working Capital
Manage cash flow forecasting and liquidity planning.
Oversee debtor management, billing, and working capital performance.
Manage banking relationships and capital allocation initiatives.
Commercial Business Partnering
Support pricing strategies, contract reviews, investment proposals, and strategic initiatives.
Identify business risks, opportunities, and profitability improvement initiatives.
Shareholder Entities & Tax Planning
Oversee reporting and compliance for shareholder, trust, investment, and related entities.
Coordinate Group tax planning and optimisation initiatives with external advisers.
Support dividend planning, trust distributions, capital management, intercompany funding, and related‐party governance.
Assist with investment analysis, acquisitions, property transactions, succession planning, and shareholder reporting.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Commerce, Finance, or related discipline.
CA ANZ or CPA qualification.
Minimum 5 years' experience in a senior finance leadership role.
Experience within engineering consultancy, professional services, or project‐based businesses.
Strong financial reporting, commercial finance, and stakeholder management capability.
Experience managing multi‐entity group structures.
Experience leading offshore or outsourced finance teams.
Exposure to tax planning, trusts, shareholder entities, and corporate transactions.
