The opportunity
Digital NSW is transforming to become the state's trusted partner, enabling accessible, secure and customer-centric digital platforms and services for the people and businesses of NSW.
We are seeking an experienced leader to join Government Technology Platforms (GTP) as Associate Director, Agency Platforms. In this role, you will provide strategic leadership and direction for the Agency Platforms portfolio, overseeing delivery, maintenance and continuous improvement of key all-of-government digital platforms and products. You will ensure these platforms deliver secure, scalable and meaningful outcomes for agencies and citizens, while fostering a strong product culture and high-performing teams.
You will represent GTP in governance forums and cross-agency engagements, provide authoritative advice to executives and champion initiatives that enhance the value of government platforms and services.
In this role, you will be responsible for end-to-end management of a group of products, including taking products from strategy, through to initial idea, implementation, support and continuous improvement to enable the successful delivery of the Division's objectives. You will also champion an effective product culture across multiple product teams to support the development and management of delivering meaningful customer value within a Government context.
Key Accountabilities
* Lead the development and implementation of platform strategies aligned with Digital NSW goals.
* Oversee delivery of major digital platforms, ensuring performance, security and compliance standards are met.
* Engage with government agencies, vendors and broader Digital NSW stakeholders.
* Monitor risks, dependencies and performance of metrics across programs, products, platforms and the organisation.
* Build and lead multi-disciplinary Agile teams, including contractors and embedded stakeholders.
* Foster a culture of collaboration, inclusion and continuous improvement.
What You Will Bring
* Proven experience in strategic leadership within product-oriented or platform delivery contexts.
* Expertise in defining and executing product vision, strategy and roadmaps informed by customer insights and feedback.
* Strong track record in managing product lifecycles from ideation to go-live and continuous improvement.
* Ability to champion innovation and assess market trends to prioritize user experience roadmaps.
* Experience in stakeholder engagement and representing senior leadership in governance forums.
* Knowledge of Agile methodologies (including SAFe) and enterprise platform governance.
* Understanding of government governance requirements and the ability to ensure compliance within all product and platform initiatives.
* Commitment to delivering secure, scalable and customer-centric digital services.
* Proven experience to drive processes to collect and analyze customer feedback, ensuring continuous evolution and improvement of products and services.
* Demonstrated experience in leading and coaching product teams to deliver the product roadmap and drive continuous improvement in enhancements, efficiency, and compliance throughout all delivery phases, from go-live to maintenance and retirement.
