Overview
Reporting to the Manager Production at our Birkenhead manufacturing plant, the Shift Supervisor will lead one of our four production shift teams with the scope and autonomy to make improvements, innovate, drive productivity, and lead a team.
The purpose of the role is to ensure that the production rates, commercial plans, and targets are achieved, through the safe and efficient utilisation of people and equipment.
A generous salary and 4 on/4 off roster make this metropolitan Adelaide based role one that will attract the interest of manufacturing, production or trades individuals with supervisory experience.
Responsibilities
Oversee the safe, secure and effective daily operations of the Birkenhead plant on shift
Lead and develop a team of shift operators
Ensure operational standards and procedures are met and continually improved
Reduce operational costs while ensuring products are safely manufactured to the required standards
Monitor and maintain quality systems
Ensure that all safety, health and environment requirements are complied with
Support and develop collaborative relationships with other site teams
Control the quality of the production process at all stages of the cement manufacturing process
What you will need to succeed
Previous experience in 24/7 heavy manufacturing environment preferable
Demonstrated ability to supervise and work effectively with individuals and a team
Great interpersonal skills
Ability to communicate and network effectively
Ability to work in a dynamic environment and to adapt well to change
Ability to lead and coach a team to work safely and maintain high quality standards
Positive 'can do' attitude
Introduce and maintain a continuous improvement mindset across the team
