Job Title: Public Health Services Manager
This role requires a skilled public health professional to guide and support Environmental Health Officers in ensuring compliance with legislation and Council policies.
About the Role:
* Enhance and develop public health policies, operating procedures and systems for efficient delivery of public health services.
* Resolve disputes, manage high-risk non-compliance, and provide professional advice to staff, local business community and members of the public.
The successful candidate will possess strong leadership skills and excellent communication abilities to handle complex issues and provide clear, practical advice to diverse stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide support and guidance to Environmental Health Officers to maintain high standards of professional conduct, customer service, and technical expertise.
2. Undertake internal audits of Officer inspections and investigations to ensure compliance with policy and procedures.
3. Manage difficult complaints and identify practical solutions or negotiate positive outcomes with relevant parties.
4. Review Officer legal proceedings and undertake case management when deemed appropriate.
About You:
You are an experienced public health professional with a solid grasp of legislation and a passion for promoting community wellbeing. You possess a Bachelor of Applied Science (Environmental Health) or equivalent, including eligibility to be a member of Environmental Health Professionals Australia.
A strong understanding of public health service provision is essential, along with excellent communication and negotiation skills to interact effectively with both internal and external customers on sensitive community matters.
