This is a temporary part-time role, up to 2 years, working 30.4 hours per fortnight (possibility of an additional 12 month extension).

About the opportunity
The key objectives of the Registered Midwife - Clinical Research Coordinator position is to support high quality clinical research and maintain optimum health care to research participants at the standard of practice, in accordance with the National Health Medical and Research Council (NHMRC), Good Clinical Practice (GCP) Guidelines and the International Committee of Harmonisation (ICH). The incumbent will contribute to the research team lead by a nominated Principal Investigator (PI), and develop research expertise through the pursuit of defined projects relevant to a specific service group within the Townsville Hospital and Health Service (THHS).

Requirements:
* Qualifications: Bachelor of Midwifery or equivalent is a mandatory qualification for this position.
* Highly Desirable:
* Research or clinical trial coordination experience
* Demonstrate clinical skills in IV cannulation. If not competent in this skill, must be willing to undertake necessary training during the term of this employment.
* Possession of a relevant postgraduate qualification in an appropriate field is highly desirable. Such experience may be discipline specific or have a service area focus.
* GCP – Good Clinical Practice certification, or the willingness to acquire within one month of commencement.
* This is a VPD risk role. Hepatitis B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Tuberculosis.
