We are seeking a skilled School Inclusion Advocate to join our team at 54 reasons, part of the Save the Children Australia Group. As a passionate advocate for children's rights, you will work closely with students, families, and schools to ensure access and participation in education.
Your Role:
* Provide an advocacy service for students attending or enrolling in Northern Territory Government (NTG) schools, and their families, to ensure they can access and participate in education.
* Work with children and families to identify strengths and establish goals towards achieving the child's increased inclusion in education.
* Assist students and their families to understand and navigate the education system, practices, and processes.
* Refer the student and their family to support networks, organisations, and information sources.
* Collect and record program data and information for the purpose of planning, evaluation, and reporting.
You Will Make a Difference by:
* Working collaboratively with students, parents/carers, and schools to negotiate agreement so that all students can successfully access and participate in education.
* Understanding and experience of working within NTG school environments.
* Knowledge and understanding of the stresses on vulnerable families and the range of family risk and protective factors which impact on child outcomes.
* Ability to keep accurate records of work undertaken, including entering and maintaining information in an electronic database.
