About the Role

This is a permanent, full-time position working 35 hours per week out of Council's Nowra Administration Building. The role is responsible for coordinating the capture, validation and analysis of asset information for Council's network assets to support informed decision making about these assets.

The Asset Strategy team is a recently formed section within the Technical Services department with a targeted focus to improve Council's knowledge of all assets under its control. The team is responsible for establishing and/or improving processes to ensure the availability, reliability, completeness and quality information relating to the whole lifecycle of infrastructure assets. This position will directly contribute to current and future successes of this section to the benefit of the whole organisation and the wider community.

The role will work closely with multiple stakeholders across the Council to source asset information and coordinate activities of the team in processing this information. Key responsibilities include:

* Capturing, updating, validating and analysing asset information from multiple sources, including inventory data, location and condition, relating to Council's network assets, such as Roads, Pathways, Kerb & Gutter, Stormwater.
* Collaborating with multiple stakeholders across the Council to source asset information and coordinate activities of the team in processing this information.
* Coordinating asset financial activities, such as capitalization and disposal.
* Maintaining thorough and complete documentation on Council's Asset Management System, asset registers, compilation of data, unit rate & useful life calculations, and other appropriate data.
* Supporting comprehensive revaluation for targeted asset classes as part of the cyclical financial review processes.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

* Tertiary qualifications (Diploma or above) in Engineering (or appropriate equivalent qualification) and/or extensive experience in the management, construction and maintenance of transport and/or stormwater related infrastructure.
* A current Class C Driver's Licence.
* Proof of Australian residency or citizenship, or authority to work in Australia (visa).
* Demonstrated ability to work effectively with multi-disciplined teams and/or working parties.
* Demonstrated success in guiding and coaching others, promoting continuous learning and managing the diverse operations of a work group to ensure the provision of timely and quality outputs.
